Crystallex - Delpet Joint Venture Agreements Signed

03/17/1997

VANCOUVER, CANADA - CRYSTALLEX INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION (T.S.E. symbol: KRY) and DELPET RESOURCES LTD. (V.S.E. symbol: DPT) today announced the formalization of the agreement in principal between Crystallex (65%) and Delpet (35%) on the 9600 hectare Mineiro gold concession located in Northern Brazil.

Previous drilling by B.P. Minerals, identified an ore resource of approximately 330,000 ounces of gold at a depth of less than 50 meters contained in one of several known mineralized targets occurring along a 14 kilometre long shear zone. Recent work by local miners has uncovered high grade mineralized zones not previously investigated by B.P. Minerals. This high grade mineralization, recently examined by the Company's Geologists, is characterized by abundant visible gold in silicified material of undetermined width. Consequently, the Company has accelerated the proposed drill program from June 1997 to April 1997.

The Company began an exploration program of data compilation, mapping and sampling in February. The initial objective of the diamond drill program in April is to test for deeper extensions of the previously identified mineralization and to evaluate new targets.

On Behalf of the Companies,

"Marc J, Oppenheimer"
Marc J, Oppenheimer, President & CEO
"Stephen M. Leahy"
Chairman of Delpet
